DS4P -> Reality/LuxRender to 3100S/p

This is another experiment with motion blur in LuxRender. Lux implements motion blur using object instances. However, until just recently, object instances did not support area lights. Thanks to jeanphi, Lux 1.3dev now supports instanced area lights, making a scene like this (which has many area lights for signage and other lights in the environment prop, not all of which are seen with this camera angle) possible. I've done a few renders in the past where this prevented me from using motion blur when I would have liked to (such as ), so I was quite pleased to see instanced area light support added to Lux.

As I wanted the girl to be sharp, I wrapped the entire environment prop (including the main lighting for the scene) in an object instance and then configured Lux's motion blur to move the environment up and forward relative to the girl (for the same movement that would have occurred if I had made the girl the object instance and had her move down and backwards). I then did a few short test renders to determine the magnitude of movement to get a pleasing blur effect before kicking off the final render. (Pro Tip: it helps to disable motion blur and just use the Translate alone to see where the final movement ends up.)

The girl is G2F. The boots and pants are G2F clothing items, as everything else I tried autofitting to her got mangled beyond usability, particularly in the area of the crotch. (The transfer utility in Studio is just atrocious...) The gloves autofit is ok, so long as you can't see the metal buckles get mangled when her arms are bent. And I went through 20+ tops trying to find one that autofit passably before settling on the chain bra, which still shows mangling from autofit, particularly the one chain on the bottom edge of the breasts. The vest is a dynamic cloth originally designed for V4 that I got to drape without falling through G2F and the chain bra by autofitting ~SickleYield's ClipFixer bodysuit to G2F, using the ClipFix morphs to expand it a bit to extend over the bra and then setting it as the collision target for the draping engine. Aside from the boots, all of her clothing uses Lux's cloth material with the silk charmeuse weave preset.

Excellent as always.   I will most definitely try this...

Did you notice that her hair is going the wrong way?
