DS4P -> Reality/LuxRender to 5000S/p
Print version:
I tried using the homogeneous volume setup I used for the will-o'-the-wisps in to get the lightsabre glow. However, it failed completely. Even after increasing sigma_s quite a bit for additional scattering, the haze effect only appeared to work on light from outside the lightsabre, not from the sabre itself (despite the sabre emitter having its exterior volume set to the homogeneous volume). So in the end, I used the bloom effect in LuxRender to get the glow on the sabre. This involved some post processing work, since the bloom effect really muddied up the rest of the image. So I exported the image with and without bloom and then merged them, similar to what I do when I have flames in the scene.
The blue Twi'lek character on the right doesn't normally have nipple pasties. However, with the other two in pasties, she looked out of place with the straps. So I hid the straps and gave her pasties as well...
